    Wesley Centre

    Churches responding to Yoorrook: Can we handle the truth? A special forum to explore the church’s response to Yoorrook recommendations. Panel Discussion with Rev Dr Daniel Sihombing, Pilgrim Theological College; Dr Omer Ergl, Islamic Sciences & Research Academy with Moderator Noor Gillani, from The Conversation.     • Discernment Day (CTM event) Are you wondering “where to from here” in terms of your discipleship?  Ever thought about what God might be calling you to?  And how do you know it’s a call from God?  The Synod equipping Leadership for Mission team warmly invites you to attend a Discernment Day on Saturday 25 October. We will offer an opportunity to learn about discernment, lay and ordained ministries, UCA processes, and educational pathways.  This event will be held in person in Parkville and online. All are welcome. Come and see!     • This Sunday we will welcome Tom Grayden, a Melbourne Uni chaplain whose ministry MtE supports financially; Tom will speak about his work after worship.
    • Also this Sunday, Church Council meets with the CAN CC after morning tea.
    • Monday Movies at the Nova. Monday, October 6: our movie will be The Wolves Always Come at Night, commencing 10.35am, runtime 96mins. Arrive 10.00+ to purchase tickets (or online beforehand).     Sunday Worship at MtE – 21 September 2025

    There will be no MtE worship service on Sunday 21 October 2025 at the CTM; we will visit Church of All Nations for a combined service at 10.00am — 180 Palmerston Street, Carlton.

    The service will be live streamed on the Church of All Nations Facebook page.

    • Worship on THIS SUNDAY September 21 will be combined at Church of All Nations, 180 Palmerston Street, Carlton, at 10.00am, with a lunch to follow (provided by CAN).
    • MtE will lead a prayer service with the CTM community in the CTM chapel on Tues September 23, praying for peace in Israel and Palestine. The service will commence at 10.30am and run for 20-25 minutes.

    Confronting Extremism – a Wesley conversation with Mark Duckworth

    • Join us for an important conversation on the rise and resurgence of violent extremist movements in Australia. Robyn Whitaker sits down with Mark Duckworth, an expert on violent extremism and counter measures, to discuss the theology and ideology of such views as well as how we can helpfully respond to combat them.
